GenGo Exchange version 1.1
by Berthold Hutten (pid028@worldonline.nl)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GenGo Exchange is a PC application for exchanging genealogy data between GEDCOM
files on a PC and data tables of GenGo on the Avigo.
GenGo is a genealogic application for the Texas Instruments Avigo PDA.
GEDCOM is a standard in the genealogy for storing genealogic data in files.

CAUTION: In order to exchange data you will need GenGo version 1.1 or higher.
GenGo Version 1.0 did not store the data correct in data tables. When
using GenGo 1.0 you will lose the last characters of name's and note's.

How does GenGo Exchange work?

How do I import a PC GEDCOM file to a GenGo data table:

1. Make a new table with GenGo on your Avigo or be sure to have already an
existing GenGo data table present on your Avigo.
2. Place your Avigo in the cradle.
3. Start GenGoExchange.
4. Click on the 'Refresh data table list' button.
5. Select the data table to overwrite.
6. Click on the 'import from GEDCOM file ...' button.
7. Select a GEDCOM file.
8. The data will be imported in the GenGo data table.

How do I export GenGo data tables to a PC GEDCOM file:

1. Place your Avigo in the cradle.
2. Start GenGoExchange.
3. Click on the 'Refresh data table list' button.
4. Select the data table to be exported.
5. Click on the 'export to GEDCOM file ...' button.
6. Select the GEDCOM file to export to.
7. The data will be exported to the GEDCOM file.

Use GenGo Exchange for your own risk, I can not be held responsible for any
damage caused by using GenGo Exchange. Backup your Avigo first (always wise).

CAUTION: to much records will make GenGo startup very slow, the app is made for
maximal 1024 records. I recommend to have not maore as 500 records
because of the long waiting till GenGo is started.
Most GEDCOM file's holds hunderds of individuals, so be sure what you
are doing when importing a GEDCOM file. Also be sure to use correct
GEDCOM files. Incorrect GEDCOM files, with for example wrong parent
relations, can make GenGo to work not properly.

Have fun with your family tree research!
