1. In the current implementation, XFree86 uses undocumented functions
of an undocumented device driver named SMVDD.SYS for mapping video
   memory.
This driver was part of MMOS/2 version 2.1 and 2.11 and formed the
base of the DIVE 1.0 implementation. If you have OS/2 2.1 or 2.11,
you may well have already installed this driver.
In Warp, this driver does no longer exist, and it is unknown, where
the essential functionality this driver provides, has gone to. DIVE
might provide a replacement, but unfortunately DIVE relies on PM,
and is not standalone, as XFree86 should be.
Nevertheless, this driver still works under Warp, and you need to
install it in CONFIG.SYS with a line DEVICE=path\SMVDD.SYS.
In future, this driver will probably be replaced by a special
   XFREE86.SYS device driver.
