Model: Visor
------------------------------------
How to Use: Extract the .pk3 directly into /baseq3.

Tools: Photoshop 6 and Q3ASE for the shader.

Time: Two weeks, on and off.

Credits: Paul Steed, Kenneth Scott and id Software.
Skin painted directly from the wiremesh, but they
deserve credit anyway, since it's their work that
has made this one possible.

Special Thanks to Vinttech of PlanetRainbowSix, DForce,
chiQ and BoBo the Seal for checking this badboy out,
before I shipped it off. :)

This skin is being submitted for the 'Skin my Ash' contest on PlanetQuake. I decided to do Visor, since my previous experience with Ranger, and those god awful shoulderpads taught me a good lesson in pulling my hair out, to get the two seprate sections of the mesh to match correctly. I really enjoy the Visor model anyway, and I must've skinned it about seventeen different ways...so I chose that one. Besides, Visor's taunt is sooo much better. :D

Addendum 1:28 PM 10/2/2001

Cold Fusion won honorable mention in the "Skin My Ash" contest. However, I liked the guy so much, this is the skin I use when I go play on the servers. Thanks to a little nudge by sundance at Polycount, I went ahead and made 1.29g/1.30 compliant team skins for ole CF (the blue and the default are the same, since well...he's already blue) and hooked up a bot. Be forwarned, the bot was intentionally made HARD. Also made a short story about CF and why he's in the Arena.

Story of Cold Fusion

Few will remember the days that the cyborg Cold Fusion reigned as champion of the Arena Eternal. In fact, even he finds it a shadowy memory in the back of memory circuits prone to glitch with age.

In the days of the Arena's conception by the Vadrigar, Cold Fusion fought and slew 20 other combatants for the right to be the first Champion, before the Vadrigar had insituted the 'respawning' of combatants. Single-handedly, this was done, and for eons, it seemed that nobody would defeat the half man killing machine.

Then came Xaero...and the rest, as they say, is history.

The rumor was that the Vadrigar had scrapped Cold Fusion, for newer, more sophisticated cyborgs, such as Visor and Gorre. New combatants came and went, and the legend that was Cold Fusion was all but forgotten. Xaero reigned as the new Champion, undefeated by man, woman, machine or beast.

One day, though none can say when or who was responsible, the pale white on blue burn flickered back into the optic sensors of the old cyborg. Some whisper that it might have been the Vadrigar themselves, or simply that the spirit that made the man side of the machine, took matters into his own hands. Nevertheless, he is back, and one single thought remains burning in those old memory banks...

Getting 'his' title back.

Enjoy!
