    Klein Fransje speelde met een schiet.
        Dit was een dom gedoe,
    Want eensklaps ging de kogel af,
        Hier hielp geen pa of moe.

    Klein Fransje schrok zich hall'f dood
        En deed een flinken val.
    Zijn wangen werden grutjes grauw,
        Bij 't hooren van den knal.

    De kogel sloeg den spiegel stuk,
        Tot duizend brokjes glas.
    En boorde in den wand een gat,
        Als of 't boter was.

    Een juffrouw met een kleinen hond
        Liep in de middagzon
    Die hond was jong, wou niet zoet mee
        En trok zoo hard-ie kon.

    De kogel schoot het touw in twee
        De hond ging er van door
    De juffrouw riep nu, in haar schik
        Wat ben je zoet Azo'r.

    Wat verderop schoot dan met gang
        En met een flinken knal
    De kogel door een picnictaart,
        Dat was een vreemd geval.

    Een elk was met het deeg bespat
        Men keek elkander aan.
    Wie of dien flauwen streek verzon
        De pret had afgedaan.

    Daar turnde aan ringen neefje Frans
        En maakte een fijnen "zwaan"
    De kogel sneed het touw in twee
        Frans kwam dit duur te staan,

    Hij viel terdege op zijn neus,
        Hij schreeuwde als een man
    Zijn moeder snelde ras nabij
        Doch snapte niets ervan.

    Klein Hansje toonde trotsch, verheugd,
        Aan zijne kameraads
    Zijn mooie tiencents luchtballon
        Hans had als altijd praats.

    De kogel trof de dunne draad
        Ballon ging op de vlucht,
    Hansje schrok er erg van
        Boos keek hij naar de lucht.

    Als steeds was meester boos op Kees
        En schreef op 't zwarte bord
    "Ik vind dat Kees een bengel is."
        De kogel kwam gesnord.

    Nam juist de B van bengel weg,
        En wat las Keesje dan:
    "Ik vind dat Kees een engel is,"
        En Keesje bloosde er van.

    Oom John verhuisde en riep: "Ik help mee,
        Als men 't klavier neerlaat.
    En wees voorzichtig en gebruik
        Een dikken stalen draad."

    Maar 't duister noodlot zond 't lood
        Van Fransje door dien draad
    En met een nooitgehoord muziek
        Viel 't mooi klavier op straat.

    Tom had voor d'eerste keer een les
        In 't eedle zwemvermaak
    Hij hing daar aan 't hengel touw
        Maar eensklaps liep 't spaak.

    De kogel brak 't touw in twee
        Tom ging als gek te keer
    En nooit meer ging hij na dien schrik
        Aan 't hengeltouw ter leer.

    Een roover op een stillen weg
        Riep tot een wandelaar:
    "Geef hier je geld!" en zwaaide erbij
        Zijn stok met groot misbaar.

    Op tijd trof Fransjes kogel toen
        Des ruwen roovers arm
    Het wapen viel hem uit de hand
        Hij vluchtte met groot alarm.

    Een sportsman op een motorfiets
        Reed veertig mijl per uur
    Hij had een kans op den eersten prijs
        Maar eensklaps keek hij zuur.

    De kogel trof het reservoir
        Waar men benzien in doet
    Een knal! De rijder lag in 't zand
        En riep: "O prijs, gegroet!"

    Een baby zoog aan speen en flesch
        Zuchtte van louter pret
    Maar 't snelle lood, in dolle vaart
        Doorschoot de melkflesch net.

    De baby met zijn leege flesch
        Was boos en gilde schel
    De moeder dacht: "De flesch reeds leeg?
        Wat drinkt die bengel snel."

    Een knaap in badkuip koelte zocht
        Hij plaste ferm de guit.
    De kogel floot den geijser door
        Het water spoot er uit.

    De kuip spoot vol van stoomend nat
        De knaap ging er van door
    En langen tijd nam hij geen bad.
        Al was het weder smoor.

    Drie paartjes voeren in een boot
        En hadden heel veel pret
    De kogel schoot het bootje lek
        Te water lag 't sextet.

    De heeren zwommen naar den kant
        Namen de meisjes mee.
    En doornat kwamen ze aan land,
        Het bootje dreef naar zee.

    Moeder had voor Vadertje
        Een pudding klaargemaakt,
    Die pudding werd zoowaarlijk ook
        Juist midden in geraakt.

    De kogel vloog toen door ons boek
        Met steeds versnelde vaart,
    En zette toen zijn zwerftocht voort
        Zijn zwerftocht, rondom d'aard.
