After unpacking Quake III: Lost Arena into your Q3A directory, run Q3A and change Quake III: Lost Arena into MODS menu, or run Quake3 with params ' quake3 +set fs_game LostArena '. If you have any problems with running Quake III: Lost Arena please download the latest Quake III: Arena version. Quake III: Lost Arena also supports standard Q3A and TA. So you can place main Q3LA .PK3 file into your BASEQ3\ or MISSIONPACK\ directory. That gives you modified icons, skins etc. into your Q3A or TA. For example I'm using Q3LA into my Q3A.

Quake III: Lost Arena is a MOD. This MOD has enhanced graphics, that could have been in final version of Q3A but was not released by id Software. Also it can be called Mission or Map Pack. I think it's just Lost Arena. Some of the things, ideas etc. were released some of them were not.

" ...it's a map pack with enhanced graphic interface... " - Zindahsh

A long time ago, when future Masters of Arena were young and fought like simple warriors, Arena had other Masters. Those used different places for tournaments. They created arenas or modified existing places for battles. Some of those arenas were lost and now current Masters of Arena find them and you'll get some new blood on your hands. Here they are:

Eternal Gate:

This arena was created by old Arena Masters and was used for first battles of
new warriors.

Best for 2-4 players.

Crypt Of Decay:

This arena was found by old Arena Masters and it is also known as Hell' Gates.
We don't know much more about it.

Best for 6-8 players.

Stinky Place:

Death place. This arena has a good thing to play with.

Best for 2-4 players.

Torment Place:

Great arena for hard matches with 8 warriors, lot of fun. Fresh meat!

Sometimes while playing Quake3 v1.27x when players are in noclip mode quake3 disconnects player with message "ERROR: SHADER_MAX_VERTEXES hit in FillCloudySkySide()". This is Q3A engine problem. To remote this problem you can use Quake3 v1.17 or remove lightning sky by unpacking this archive into your LostArena folder.
