The Ultimate Deathmatch Experience

Instructions: install the mod one of two ways:

1. If you have the install exe then run it and follow the installation program 
through it will install an icon on your desktop, and you can run by either using 
the desktop icon or using the BAT file (D2F.BAT) in your current Quake3 
directory.

2. If you downloaded the zip; extract the contents to your current Quake3 
directory and run the BAT file (D2F.BAT) in your current Quake3 directory.  

Intro:

D2F (DOOMED2FRAG) is a Quake3 mod designed with the purpose
of bringing the adrenaline pumping, visceral experience of 
DOOM2 Deathmatch to Quake3 with a few nods to features from
more recent games.  In Beta1 we have 7 new DOOM2 based weapons
replacing Quake3 weapons; and in our next release we plan to 
add another two weapons to the fray.  We have included 3 of the 
best custom maps out there that worked well with the mods changes
and new weapons, and we thank the makers of these great maps for
granting us permission to include them (they are KODIAK, r_speeds
(aka twoAM), and Natestah, PJW, and Auhsan).  We hope you enjoy this fast 
paced mod as much as we do.

Features:

Airbraking:
	
In D2F players are giving the ability to stop in mid air by 
using the "Airbrake" feature.  To use Airbraking, hit the crouch 
key in mid-air and you will stop on a dime, you can then begin moving 
in the desired direction (note you need to let go of the crouch key 
after you stop if you want to change direction).

WeaponRespawn options:

the weaponRespawn option in the server set up menu gives you three 
options:

q3DM style: this uses the standard 5 second weapon respawns that 
are default in Quake3Arena

OldDM style: this enables DOOM2 old deathmatch style weaponStay,
meaning the the weapon will stay after you pick it up, but you 
can't pick it up multiple times...good for FFAs

AltDeath20: this enables 20 second respawns which allow for more 
weapon control and strategy; especially in 1v1 (although default 
works fine too)

In teamDM this option will not be displayed and weapons will have 
the standard Q3 TEAM respawn time of 30 seconds.

Weapons:

ChainSaw- this weapon is a close range killer, and if you can latch on 
you can do some nasty damage over time; but your better off with a 
gun.

Pistol/Sidearm- this small weapon (a large caliber version of the 
MP5K) is your starting weapon, its pretty weak but its shots are like 
bee stings; one hurts...a lot kill.

Shotgun- this is the single barrel shotgun, it can kill in 2 or 3 
shots up close if your opponent is unarmored...a decent mid range 
weapon too.

Super Shotgun- if your opponent is unarmored and within about 12 feet
they're gonna die if you get a solid shot, and really close your like
a T-REX.

GatlingGun- standard automatic weapon, can drop a respawned dude in 
under a second...pretty good over a long range.

FlameThrower- Fires a jet of compressed Liquid natural gas and ignites it,
the result is a stream of flame that is deadliest at close range and spreads 
out massive heat damage.

RocketLauncher- This DeathMachine pumps out rocket propelled explosive 
at super velocities...very scary!

Plasma Rifle- a great supression/saturation weapon that eats ammo like
popcorn; think the DOOM2 plasma in terms of speed and power!

BFG9K- fire into a room and nuke stuff...think of the very first BFG and 
you get the idea


ArmorSystem: 

Basically the green armor gives your 100 armor but won't 
give you any 
over that, and you can pick up the blue no matter what!  If 
you have 
over 100 you'll get 75% protection as opposed to 66%.  The blue 
gives 
you 200, the green gives you 100, and the spirit helms give you 5.  


Maps:

r_tourney8c: a DM4 like map with a toxic feel to it...very fast with 
some winding twists and turns that make this a great rocket fest!

q3tbdm4: a very tight fast map that's perfect for this mod, so fast 
with D2F it feels like a roller coaster ride with the carnage most
good roller coasters sadly lack, the SSG and Rocket kick @$$ here!

natedm2: a very cool map that works well for a quick witted game of 
cat and mouse, or a very bloody FFA...the plasma can be found here;
also make sure to look around and enjoy the plant life here.

pjw3tourney1: a great map for flowing 1v1s and small FFAs...I recommend 
controling the armor.

auh3dm2: a tech themed map with a quad damage an alot of room for Team based 
or FFA action.

Stuff to look for in Beta3:

Weapon hands
exploding barrels
more levels
improved models/skins for the PG and maybe the CS
gameplay tweaks and maybe bugfixes (keeping fingers crossed ;))
other stuff that I haven't thought of yet...
