RiscPC: A directory containing press releases, price information and technical specifications of Acorn's flagship machine pricelist: Electronic copy of the Acorn Retail Price List (September 1997). safety: Safety Test Guidelines for Acorn computers. PostScript and Drawfile versions. training: Details of courses, course calendar and prices for Acorn-approved training courses, to be run by Insight Education. riscos: Software patches and free releases for RISC OS 2.0 and 3.1 from Acorn and third parties. patches: Tweaks to enhance performance advance: Patch to enable Acorn Advance to work with StrongARM serial: Two modules to improve serial port performance at and above 9600 baud netutils: Latest version of the patch. This version is still under testing; if you have any problems, please email customer.services@acorn.co.uk giving full details of the nature of your fault and the configuration of your network. printers153: Patch to fix two problems with !Printers 1.53: - Established applications that printed reliably with !Printers 1.28 or earlier sometimes/always encounter errors and fail to complete a print. - Newer Hewlett Packard printers cannot be used because output to them from the Acorn parallel port is extremely slow. Users of versions of !Printers earlier than 1.53 should update to this version and install the patches; users of !Printers 1.54 (RISC OS 3.70) already have these patches catered for in the riscos370sa patch set (qv) riscos360+370: This release of ROMPatches fixes some problems with RISC OS 3.60 and with 3.70. It supersedes ROMPatch 2.01 for RISC OS 3.70 (released as riscos370sa.arc) and provides additional patches. Cupdate1: An update set for Acorn C/C++ Release 5. containing, among other enhancements, a set of modifications to !ResEd to enable addition of user-defined gadgets. By popular demand, a standalone build of flex() is included. This archive also contains the latest Toolbox modules. deutsch37beta: Compressed and slightly abridged (no movies, stillframe JPEGs or tutorials) image of the RISC OS 3.7 disc image, translated throughout into German. This distribution also contains the !Territory application, which patches ROM window and menu resources such that the text contained therein is also translated into German. This release is in beta form since Access+ and a small number of other things have yet to be translated; please forward comments on the standard of German translation to kbracey@art.acorn.co.uk drawfile: A module to facilitate easier rendering of Draw files in the Desktop. Supplied with C function headers and documentation. ** There's been some major confusion kicked up about the distribution rights on this one. Removes the "Spurious bad block at 2Gb boundary" problem. makemodes: A new application, with supporting documentation, for creating and customising Risc PC Monitor Definition Files. RISC OS 3.5 / 3.6 only. networking: a7000pack: The floppy disc set which ships with the A7000 NET machine, and which should be installed, as per instructions, on the network *server* to enable the A7000 NET clients to boot from it. a7000pack: As above, but for booting the A7000+. BootUtils: A number of small but elegant utilities which have proved useful when setting up network boot sequences on Level 4 and Acorn Access DCI4: New versions of the !Internet and !Bootnet applications; please read the ReadMe1st and ReadMe files in this directory for further details. Currently (as of 20/03/97) contains Internet 4.10. level4: Updates for Level 4 Release 3 to improve usability on systems running RISC OS 3.5 or greater. tcpip: Programming interface libraries and headers for the TCP/IP socket layer; currently issue is compatible with the DCI4 stack. newlook: Acorn's Style Guide Compliant Desktop look and feel, as distributed at Acorn World '93. nspark.tar OK, so it isn't a RISC OS program :-) nspark allows UNIX hosts to access and decompress the Spark archives contained on this server. oslib: (new version 13/07/95) A library set for Desktop C which improves the API for SWI calls, and generates smaller, faster code than the current release. Now improved and extended to include !StrongHlp support, OSLib now has its own directory on the server; make sure you download all the archives! NB OSLib is not an official Acorn product. picture: A demonstration slideshow utility to demonstrate the effects of RAM cacheing on disc access. pccard: Utilities and updates for the Risc PC 486 coprocessor card. Now comprises the patched version 1.93 of the !PCx86 application, and a patch for the PC Exchange package. printers: printers: Version 1.53 of the Printer Manager and latest Definition Files; now includes support for the Canon BJC210 and BJC4100. Documentation for this version is supplied as part of the archive. stylus500: Printer Definition File and modified palettes to allow use of Epson's new Stylus 500 colo(u)r printer. Installation notes included in the archive. stycol400: Printer Definition File and modified palettes to allow use of Epson's new Stylus 400 colo(u)r printer. Installation notes included in the archive. stycol600: Printer Definition File and modified palettes to allow use of Epson's new Stylus 600 colo(u)r printer. Installation notes included in the archive. ro2extras: Latest versions of CLib (3.75), FPEmulator (3.20), modules and applications for RISC OS 2.00 and 2.01. Included so that owners who have not upgraded can check compatibility with more recent software. riscos310: Acorn's Applications Discs, as supplied with all RISC OS 3 machines. scsidm: Acorn's SCSI disc partitioner and formatting utility, as supplied with our SCSI card. Documentation on this application is available in the User Guide which accompanies the SCSI card. This application is not designed to work with any card other than Acorn's own SCSI card. spriteextend: The RISC OS SpriteExtend module vn 0.99, which includes fast JPEG rendering (as supplied with RISC OS 3.6). Also included is a small SpriteExtendMessages module, which adds new messages required by SpriteExtend when used on RISC OS versions earlier than 3.6. The software is in a directory structure suitable for copying on top of the RISC OS 3.5 !Boot application. NB This software has only been tested for use with RISC OS 3.6 - your attention is drawn to the local ReadMe file, and to the license conditions imposed by this /pub/ReadMe document! templates: New Template set to go with the new Style Guide.
