There are three displays, one for the (2-dimensional)
contours, one for the (1-dimensional) slices and one
(to which the help button is attached) that tracks
the contour display. For all three displays their
width and height are specified by <display_width> and
<display_height>.

$EREF$plot2 module <display>

A description of the contour display functionality:

A timer option for the contouring process is available
in the levels module.

The mouse can be used to carry out various manipulations.

The display can be resized in the usual way available for
the particular window manager being used (e.g. the Motif
Window Manager (MWM) uses the left button held down on the
border, other window managers may use the middle button).

All three mouse buttons are used by this display.

Pressing down the left button at point 1, moving the
cursor to point 2 while holding the button down, and then
releasing it translates point 1 of the display to point 2.

Pressing down the middle button at point 1, moving the
cursor to point 2 while holding the button down, and then
releasing it creates a rectangle from point 1 to point 2.
This can be used if the statistics of a particular
sub-region is desired (see the help for the region module).
It can also be used to expand/contract the chosen region.

If (stress on the word if) a rectangle has been created
then the following button presses cause the given actions.
If the left mouse button is pressed inside the rectangle,
then the rectangle's inside expands to fill the display.
If the left mouse button is pressed outside the rectangle,
then the display contracts to fit inside the rectangle.
If the middle button is pressed the rectangle disappears.

Clicking the right button on the display provides the
values of the various data sets at that particular point.

The up and down arrow keys scale the row and column
slices up and down by a factor of 1.5.

$EREF$plot2 module <slice>

A description of the slice display functionality:

The mouse can be used to carry out various manipulations.

The display can be resized in the usual way available for
the particular window manager being used (e.g. the Motif
Window Manager (MWM) uses the left button held down on the
border, other window managers may use the middle button).

All three mouse buttons are used by this display.

The left and right arrow keys can be used to create a
limiting range for the slice. A limiting range is
defined even if only one of the limits is defined.
(In this case the other limit takes the obvious value.)
This can be used if the statistics of a particular
sub-slice is desired (see the help for the slice module).
It can also be used to expand/contract the chosen range.

If (stress on the word if) a limiting range has been created
then the following button presses cause the given actions.
If the left mouse button is pressed inside the limits,
then the inside of the limits expands to fill the display.
If the left mouse button is pressed outside the limits,
then the display contracts to fit inside the limits.
If the middle button is pressed the limits disappear.
If the left mouse button is pressed while the shift key is
held down then a baseline point is inserted at the cursor.
If the right mouse button is pressed while the shift key
is held down then the closest baseline point is deleted.

Clicking the right button on the display provides the
values of the chosen slice at that particular point.

The up and down arrow keys scale the row/column slice
up and down by a factor of 1.5.

$EREF$plot2 module <tracking>

A description of the tracking display functionality:

The tracking display has a black rectangle which indicates
the extent of the region of the contour display relative
to the maximum extent of all the data sets.

The mouse can be used to carry out various manipulations.

The display can be resized in the usual way available for
the particular window manager being used (e.g. the Motif
Window Manager (MWM) uses the left button held down on the
border, other window managers may use the middle button).

The left and right mouse buttons are used by this display.

Pressing down the left button at point 1 inside the black
rectangle, moving the cursor to point 2 while holding the
button down, and then releasing it creates a new, red,
rectangle translated by the amount (point2 - point1).

If (stress on the word if) a black rectangle exists, then
pressing down the middle button at point 1, moving the
cursor to point 2 while holding the button down, and then
releasing it creates a red rectangle extending from 1 to 2.

If a red rectangle has been created then the following
button presses cause the given actions. If the left mouse
button is pressed anywhere in the display then the contour
display region is updated to this rectangle. If the
middle button is pressed the red rectangle disappears.

{apply}
If a red rectangle has been created then the contour
display region is updated to this rectangle.
