============================== README.TXT ================================ Welcome to the Eiffel CDROM This is the Eiffel CDROM from Walnut Creek CDROM, compiled by Nicolas Waquier (nicolas@esclare.fdn.org) We have done our best to give to this CD the most value. Our primary goal in assembling this CD was to give you a complete access to the Eiffel World today, with working tools and classes. You'll find in various directories: Eiffel compilers, Eiffel classes and clusters, texts and archives about Eiffel. We have contributions from each Eiffel vendors in 'compiler' and 'contrib' The last comp.lang.eiffel FAQ is in articles/cle_faq.txt Utilities are in dos_util (pkunzip, tar.zip) and in utility (djgcc, ghostscript, emacs). to use this CD: 1: You need an Eiffel compiler. If you don't have one, there are some in 'compiler' DOS Windows Windows95 WindowsNT Linux FreeBSD SunOS Eon x x ISE x SIG x x x x x Tower x x x Eon: Eon/Eiffel is a shareware compiler, producing C++ code ISE: ISE FREE EIFFEL FOR WINDOWS is a freeware maintained by ISE SIG: SIG Eiffel/S 1.3S is the shareware version of Eiffel/S Tower: TowerEiffel 1.5 for Linux is the full version, TowerEiffel for Windows 1.5 is Beta and requires a C compiler. Before writing your own Eiffel compiler, please check the news for various advices. N_W__ ========================================================================== Quick Start Instructions: Windows 95: Insert the cdrom into the cdrom drive. This will automatically start a CDROM browser program called WinView. Windows 3.1: Go to "File" menu under program manager and choose Run. At the Command Line box, type: "D:\setup", assuming 'D' is your cdrom drive. This will install a group folder with icons for this cdrom. To start the CDROM browser program, double click on the icon called WinView, or run the program w16view.exe located at the root directory of the CDROM. Windows NT: Go to "File" menu under program manager and choose Run. At the Command Line box, type: "D:\setup95", assuming 'D' is your cdrom drive. This will install a group folder with icons for this cdrom. To start the CDROM browser program, double click on the icon called WinView, or run the program w32view.exe located at the root directory of the CDROM. MSDOS Quick Start: Change to your CDROM drive and type "view".
