=============================== README.TXT ================================== Welcome to MechEng: ASME's Mechanical Engineering Toolkit! This disc contains 5000+ programs with a particular focus on scientific and technical subjects. The majority of the programs are for the IBM-PC architecture but there are files for Amiga, Macintosh, and UNIX programs. The MechEng archive originated with the MechEng BBS, a free public service of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). The BBS has been in operation since 1987, offering Usenet news, free Email, listserv services, and access to the MechEng archive through a standard BBS format, answering at (608) 233-3378. The archive is also available through the MechEng Web site (http://www.mecheng.asme.org), FTP site (ftp://ftp.mecheng.asme.org/pub), ASME's web site (http://www.asme.org), and on CDROM. All access points offer the same collection. For questions regarding the archive contact jackson@mecheng.asme.org. ============================================================================= ASME's Disclaimer Every file in the MechEng archive has been scanned with virus software, reviewed for copyright, and generally faulty operation. Users of software are responsible to copyright owners for legal and ethical use of software products. Free access to software in no way implies free software. Please respect the intellectual property of shareware authors by registering software as required by the individual guidelines included with each shareware program.
