                     HotJava Browser 3.0 provides a Web solution that uses the Java
                     Development Kit (JDKTM) 1.1.x platform. It is a perfect fit for enterprises
                     looking to deploy Network Computers such as the JavaStationTM.
                     HotJava Browser 3.0 is also a "modern" browser for the Java platform
                     that offers HTML capabilities comparable with Netscape NavigatorTM
                     3.0. 

                     HotJava Browser does not compete with Netscape Navigator, but
                     complements it 

                     Netscape Navigator offers a rich and robust feature set for desktop
                     computers and workstations, while HotJava Browser is ideally suited for
                     devices ranging from digital set top boxes to thin clients. Where Netscape

                     interactive media from anywhere on the Web, HotJava Browser is more

                     Releasing the HotJava Browser 3.0 source code under Sun Community
                     Source Licensing accelerates the evolution of HotJava Browser code
                     development by pooling resources of the developer community. 

                     This will also provide the development community with the optimal
                     solution for creating and integrating browser functionality into Java
                     applications. HotJava Browser 3.0 Sun Community Source Licensing
                     provides a solution to portal providers (for example, kiosk venders,
                     enterprises, or education) from which they can create their own custom
                     browser. 

                     Sun Community Source Licensing (SCSL) options include Commercial
                     Use licensing, which provides the option of deploying HotJava Browser
                     3.0 technology with proprietary modifications and extensions.

                     Platform Support 

                     HotJava Browser 3.0 runs on any JDK 1.1.6-compliant VM, including
                     SolarisTM (version 2.6) on SPARCTM and JavaStation. It is likely to run
                     with other versions of Solaris and JDK 1.1.x, but it is only officially
                     supported on the platforms it was tested on. 

                     HotJava Browser 3.0 has been tested on the following platforms:

                          Solaris 2.6 

                     If you would like to run the HotJava Browser on a platform other than
                     Solaris for SPARC or JavaStation, you can download an unsupported
                     version of the HotJava Browser 3.0 for Mac OS, Windows 98, Windows
                     NT, or Linux platforms.
