Latest news...

Since we released the alpha trial of 1X, we've received a surprising number of requests from users wanting to purchase a copy. Due to increasing demand, 1X is now in final beta testing for release shortly.   Send your vote if you are interested in purchasing the release version, or stay tuned by visiting our web site...

Current version

The latest 1X Net Browser available for download is Issue 0.91. Press F1 Help to view your current 1X installation version - the issue number is listed at the top of the Help page. To update, simply download, then close 1X before running the latest 1XSetup file.  Click here for details on the latest 1X features.

IMPORTANT: To use 1X you need either Windows 98 or the 95 OSR2 version, or to have previously installed IE3 or higher on the original (August 95) Windows 95 or Windows NT4 versions.

Although Microsoft released ActiveX as an 'open technology', key files for downloading and installing ActiveX controls were not supplied in the original Windows 95 and NT4 releases. These files were only available by installing a Microsoft browser (IE3 or higher). Later Windows versions (98, 95 OSR2 and NT4 with service pack upgrades) now include these files.

Thanks for the feedback!

Our thanks to all those who have kindly taken the time to email their suggestions, feedback and compliments on 1X  to date.

Comments and feedback have fallen mainly into 2 camps:

We're not sure who ultimately lost out in the browser wars - maybe we all did, if the number of web sites requiring a particular browser continues to grow :-(

Problem reports

Type 1X /L at the Windows Start|Run dialog to create a log file (1X.EXE.TXT) with troubleshooting details when loading 1X. Any error entries will be preceded with the ERROR keyword (in capitals). If you are unable to resolve the cause, send us an email with your log file included as a MIME attachment.
