Are you looking for a compact Windows 95 browser for internet and intranet applications? Or do you need to explore the capabilities of ActiveX applications? Why not download a trial copy of our 1X Net Browser...
1X has the facilities you need to browse most of the web pages on the planet - including frames, tables, forms, SSL security, caching, outgoing email, FTP downloads, bookmarks and extended history.
1X also supports helper applications (e.g. MS-Office files, RealAudio plug-ins etc.), provides a Go... button for frequently visited sites, reports your modem statistics, and includes finger protocol for querying on-line users.
You can also use 1X to compare your PC clock against an Internet Time Server, check your bookmarks for new site content, display PNG, XBM and Windows BMP graphics, play .WAV and .MID sound files, and view .AVI files.
To browse the web, you don't really need regular upgrades of the latest monolith browsers (latest installations can require over 90MB of hard disk space). 1X takes less hard disk space than one 3.5" floppy (cache excluded), and lets you explore the world of ActiveX applications.
With Alpha version 0.12, we've added a couple more goodies for you to check out:
Support for background sounds - since a number of popular web pages now include voice messages and music via midi or wave files.
1X now restores any details you previously entered, when using the Back
button to return to a form entry page.
Alpha version 0.11 included:
Support for animated GIFs - now you won't have to miss the endless adverts on web site banners.
1X now also runs on Windows NT4, for those of you who like a choice of browsers :-)
Of course that's not all - we've also added some speed improvements, pop-up titles for image labels, and improved handling of the non-standard HTML generated by some popular web page editors...
And, for the curious who want to know their current IP address - move
the mouse cursor over the STI logo ( top right of main screen) when on-line to the
Internet, to view your current IP address.
Alpha version 0.10 included:
View your modem statistics - to check your on-line connect time for today, this month and last month.
Use helper applications to process downloaded files e.g. view Word and Excel files using MS-Office, install a RealAudio plug-in to play the latest sound and video files etc.
Click the toolbar Go... button to access your most frequently used sites (e.g. search engines, company pages, phone lists, etc. ).
Use the built-in Finger protocol to explore the facilities of finger servers on the web.
Choose your email signature (e.g. company, private) when sending email messages.
Before downloading 1X, first check the 1X FAQ page for installation requirements. Click here to download 1X (1.4MB) for a test drive today!
P.S. If you have an ActiveX enabled browser, why not check your PC clock ON-LINE for the Year 2000 RTC bug.
