SGMLtools README, version 2.0.x
$Id: README,v 1.6 1998/10/17 20:26:37 cg Exp $

** This is an early access release. Don't expect things to work. This
really really really really is for developers only. You're welcome
to join the club, but don't expect anybody to respond to user-level
   questions.

** For more uptodate information, visit the SGMLtools homepage
   at http://www.sgmltools.org/

** Start reading doc/environment.txt first!

Welcome to SGMLtools Next Generation, aka SGMLtools '98, aka SGMLtools
2.0.x. This is a complete rewrite of the well-known package that enables
you to use SGML out-of-the-box.

SGMLtools versioning is done the same way the Linux kernels are versioned.
This is a stable version, we'll have a 2.1.x later on for experimental work.

This version of SGMLtools is based on a lot of external software, all
placed in the packages/ subdirectory. These packages are copyrighted in
various ways by their respective owners, see the notices over there. For
the rest of SGMLtools, here's the legal blurb:
