Description:

  Modular mail client.

  Part of the KDE Personal Information Management project.

  Designed for reuse. The application 'empath' is built by default,
  but is intended for testing the various modules and will not
  necessarily continue to exist as a standalone client.

Requirements:

  * A working copy of kdelibs from KDE's HEAD branch.
  
  You can either:

  o Get a snapshot via ftp.
  o Get a local copy of the sources via cvsup.
  o Use your CVS access (if you have it) to get a local copy.

  If you're interested in contributing to the project, please mail
  Rik <rik@kde.org> and ask questions.

  Help is needed in the following areas.
   
  * Architectural
    - Error reporting
    - Identify inefficient models / paradigms.
    - Work out how threading support can be built in.
 
  * Implementation
    - Adding new features.
    - Debugging.
    - Clean up over-complex, dangerous, sloppy or ill-conceived code.
    - Identify and plug memory leaks.
    - Identify and plug security holes.
    - Implement multi-threading support
    - Implement a DCOP interface.

    Note: Programmers and designers may read DESIGN for a useful
    introduction to the system architecture. Information on developing
    for KDE is available within the Qt documentation and at
    http://developer.kde.org
    
  * Documentation
    - Clean up and assure completeness of class documentation.
    - Keep web pages up to date.
      + Announce recent developments.
      + Provide regular development news.
    - Write and maintain a user manual.

  * Artwork
    - Draw some artwork for web pages.
  
  * Maintenance
    - Bug reporting.
    - Testing.
  
  * Propaganda
    - Announce developments to relevant entities.
    - Write a succinct project description.
    - Create a presentation suitable for the media.
