The contents of the sunos directory has been removed from the
Linux version of the pppd distribution due to the restrictive
license terms of the streams code.

With the removal of the code, the resulting code now fits within only
the terms of the original BSD copyright. This permits the inclusion of
the file on a commercial package, such as a CDROM, without the terms
of the limited license.

I am sorry of you find this restrictive. I feel that is better to
distribute the Linux code with the Linux distributions than it is to
distribute the SunOS code with the Linux distribution.

Linux does not support streams at the present time.

The SunOS code is available via ftp distribution. Principle sites
still include ftp.uu.net and ftp.merit.edu along with their numerous
mirror sites.
