This file is the background story of CAM.

When I used a audio mixer ( aumix 0.2 by Savio Lam ), I wasn't satisfied with
the things I could do with it.
I wasn't able to control the left and right channel separatly, couldn't
load or save default settings and if I had to change one device, I had to
load the program and use the interface, I was unable to change it from the
command line.

So, I decided to make that program myself. I took a look at the code from
'aumix' and saw that it wasn't so difficult to make your own audio mixer.

This program is my first 'real' program under Linux. Also it was the first time
ever that I used the (n)curses.

I don't know if the program is portable to other OS? I think it should be if
the OS support and '/dev/mixer' device and if the 'soundcard.h' is the same.

* What is CPU ?

CPU stands for Computerfreaks Playing around on University. It is a
computerclub some friends and I started.
I took the name 'Cpu's Audio Mixer' because the child has got to have an name.

The other CPU-members have noting to do with this program ( I'm the only one
to blame for the bugs and servers crashes ).

CPU also has a channel on IRC ( #CPU ). Join in any time, mostly when we are
programming we have a window with IRC running.

** read the README file and also the manpages ( man cam ).

* I'd like to thank my sister for helping me with these docs.
