_D_e_s_c_r_i_p_t_i_o_n:

The 'polar' data frame has 50 rows and 2 columns.

The data are the pole positions from a paleomagnetic study of New
     Caledonian laterites.

_U_s_a_g_e:

     polar

_F_o_r_m_a_t:

This data frame contains the following columns:

'_l_a_t' The latitude (in degrees) of the pole position. Note that
all latitudes are negative as the axis is taken to be in the
          lower hemisphere.

'_l_o_n_g' The longitude (in degrees) of the pole position.

_S_o_u_r_c_e:

     The data were obtained from

     Fisher, N.I., Lewis, T. and Embleton, B.J.J. (1987) _Statistical
Analysis of Spherical Data_. Cambridge University Press.

_R_e_f_e_r_e_n_c_e_s:

Davison, A.C. and Hinkley, D.V. (1997) _Bootstrap Methods and
     Their Application_. Cambridge University Press.
