Macintosh Resources
Source: ftp://quest.cc.purdue.edu/pub/mac/
Platforms: Apple Macintosh
Access via: ftp, www

Macintosh Resources provides a number of useful utilities for older (pre-OS X) versions of the Macintosh operating system. Items available include:

Build - HyperCard stack that "memorizes" a Mac's current control panel settings and builds an INIT (system extension) that restores those settings whenever the Mac is restarted.

Hide/Show - !ShowStartUp and !HideStartUp are an INIT and an APPL that allow you to make invisible the "Startup Items" folder on a Mac running System 7.x. This prevents the casual user from changing the contents of the Startup Items folder.

RR Launcher - a small, faceless, background background application intended to go in the Startup Items folder. At a specified time of day, it launches another application (usually RevRdist).

Configure launcher - In order to keep RR Launcher small, it has no user interface. Instead, there is a separate HyperCard stack to configure Launcher.

RevRdist - A program used to keep local hard disks synchronized with a master copy on an AppleShare server.
